EcoWatch has also taken the notice of unhygienic and contaminated water being sold as mineral water under different brand names and raised the issue in the Environmental Protection Tribunal, Punjab. The complaint against contaminated bottled water manufacturers is based upon the report of Pakistan Council for Research of Water Research (PCRWR) and National Institute of Health (NIH) under the direction of Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST). This effort has fruitfully resulted in the involvement of government agencies by periodically sampling, assessing and monitoring the quality of all brands of bottled water and taking strict action against the violators.
